The pictures below are of our latest project, to return part of the river Kennet back to its original course and construction of a fish refuge, under the guidance of the environment Agency. The river was straightened in the 1970's and the old course has been plotted and mapped with satilite technology.

Here is where the existing channel meets the new.

The line of the old river (filled in ) and the new channel

Sarsen stones reclaimed from the old river and place in the bank of the new channel
Clay lining the fish refuge with locally sourced clay

Groundworks on the refuge and setting the levels

The new River bed following its original line as it was prior to the 1970's when it was straightened
